Unclaimed Land (2017)

Unclaimed Land is a series of real-time 3D simulations made possible by 3D modelling, animation technology and computer programming. By simulating and adjusting the logic and structure of the real world, the series of simulations create a new set of rule models which operate perpetually in a virtual world.

Unclaimed Land-3 (2017)

Real-time 3D simulation

The prototype for Unclaimed Land-3 is Pigs in the river (2017), a song based on the Huangpu river floating pig incident.

In the simulation, the deserted forts on the sea are turned into enclosed slaughter houses.

We have no idea what is happening behind those Soviet style windows. But an endless array of dead pigs are being transferred to the fort in the center on conveyor belts before they are abandoned into the water.

The sign on the fort which reads “Have a wonderful trip” seems so empty, suggesting an anchorless and helpless fate.
